Context and Objectives
The main focus for this cosy Zetland home was to create a simple yet elegant kitchen that maximises space while introducing refined display elements to elevate the overall design. The brief called for a balance of practicality and style, with generous storage alongside curated feature cabinetry to enhance the visual appeal of the space. The challenge was to design a compact kitchen that felt open, uncluttered, and visually elevated, while still providing ample storage and maintaining a strong sense of warmth and cohesion throughout.
Design and Functionality
The kitchen was designed with a strong emphasis on streamlined functionality and subtle luxury. To introduce depth and visual interest, glass cabinetry with aluminium framing was incorporated, finished with a refined hand profile in manganese bronze. Floating cabinetry was enhanced with integrated internal lighting, adding warmth and highlighting key display areas.
White soft-lacquer, soft-close cabinetry was selected to achieve a clean and minimal finish, complemented by timber-finished carcasses internally and externally to introduce natural texture. Engineered stone benchtops were used to add durability and subtle variation in tone and pattern, reinforcing both form and function. A Bora induction cooktop was seamlessly integrated to complete the kitchen, maintaining a sleek and modern aesthetic.
